Shreyas Iyer’s Sister Responds To Trolls After PBKS Loss

Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer’s sister, Shresta, was upset after seeing trolls attack her brother online. PBKS had recently beaten Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. But in the return match on April 20, RCB defeated PBKS, and Shreyas couldn’t score many runs. This made some angry PBKS fans blame him and even his family.

Shresta spoke out on Instagram, saying, “It’s disappointing to see people blame family members for just showing up to support. Whether we are at the stadium or cheering from home, our support is always strong. To those pointing fingers, your thinking is shallow and embarrassing. I’ve been there for many matches that ended in wins, but trolls don’t care about facts.”

About the Match

In the match, Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli led RCB to an easy seven-wicket win against PBKS. RCB chased the target of 158 runs in just 18.5 overs and entered the top four teams in the points table.

Padikkal played a brilliant innings, scoring 61 runs from 35 balls — his first IPL half-century in 22 matches. Kohli supported him perfectly, finishing unbeaten with 73 runs off 54 balls. They built a strong partnership of 103 runs in just 11.3 overs.

Kohli started with some classic shots, including a smart pull shot off Arshdeep Singh and a powerful drive against Xavier Bartlett. Padikkal impressed by hitting fours and sixes with ease. The running between the wickets was also top-notch, showing great teamwork.

Padikkal eventually got out trying to hit another six, but by then RCB was already close to victory. Kohli continued, smashing boundaries and even hitting a stylish six off Yuzvendra Chahal. His calm and steady performance helped RCB seal the win.
