Trump On India: ‘Reciprocal Taxes For Fair Trade’

Donald Trump has once again criticized India’s high trade tariffs, vowing to impose reciprocal taxes on countries like India and Brazil. Speaking at Mar-a-Lago, Trump highlighted the need for fair trade, stating, “If they tax us, we tax them the same amount.”

Trump also praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a “great leader,” but stressed that India’s tariffs are among the highest globally. He emphasized reciprocity as a key focus of his trade policy, aiming to address imbalances and ensure fairness.

Commerce Secretary nominee Howard Lutnick supported this stance, adding.
