Former US President Donald Trump has strongly criticized Harvard University. He warned that the university could lose its tax-exempt status if it continues to promote what he called “political, ideological, and terrorist-inspired sickness.”
On his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump said, “Perhaps Harvard should lose its Tax Exempt Status and be taxed as a political group. Tax exemptions are only for those working in the public interest.”
This statement came after the US government froze $2.2 billion in federal funding for Harvard. The move followed the university’s refusal to follow a list of government demands aimed at reducing campus activism, especially related to anti-Semitism.
