Trump also praised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling him a “great leader,” but stressed that India’s tariffs are among the highest globally. He emphasized reciprocity as a key focus of his trade policy, aiming to address imbalances and ensure fairness.
Commerce Secretary nominee Howard Lutnick supported this stance, adding.
