Slumdog Millionaire Sequel Coming Soon

A new production company, Bridge7, has acquired the rights for a sequel and TV adaptation of the Oscar-winning film Slumdog Millionaire. The company, based in LA and run by producer Swati Shetty and agent Grant Kessman, bought the rights from Celador, the UK company that produced the 2008 hit.

Directed by Danny Boyle, Slumdog Millionaire starred Dev Patel and Freida Pinto. It tells the story of Jamal (Patel) and his brother Salim, two poor boys from Mumbai who face life’s challenges and struggle to be with the girl they love, Latika (Pinto). The film, which won eight Oscars, including Best Picture, remains a beloved classic.

Bridge7 promises to continue the story, with Celador working on the sequel.
