Allu Arjun’s blockbuster Pushpa 2: The Rule continues to rule the global box office, crossing a whopping ₹1500 crore worldwide despite controversies surrounding the stampede incident.
The film has earned ₹1506.7 crore globally, including ₹1062.6 crore (nett) from India and ₹240 crore overseas. On Day 19, the film added ₹2.31 crore (nett) in India for all languages, maintaining its momentum.
Amid its success, the film faced backlash after a stampede at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad during Allu Arjun’s visit on December 4. The tragic incident resulted in one death and injuries. FIRs were filed against Allu Arjun and the theatre management.
Protesters claiming to be from Osmania University’s JAC vandalized Allu Arjun’s Hyderabad residence. His father, Allu Aravind, assured legal action against the offenders.
Directed by Sukumar, the sequel to Pushpa: The Rise showcases Pushpa Raj’s journey to becoming a red sanders smuggling kingpin. Starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, the film is breaking records worldwide.
