Abhijit Mukherjee, son of former President Pranab Mukherjee, has rejoined the Congress party after leaving Mamata Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress (TMC). He officially joined the party in Kolkata in the presence of senior Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir and other state leaders.

Mir confirmed that Mukherjee had been in touch with Congress leadership for over a year and decided to return.
