The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has extended the Oscar nomination voting deadline due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles. Voting, which began on January 8, was originally set to end on January 12 but will now close on January 14. The nominations, once scheduled for January 17, will now be announced on January 19.
The Academy expressed its condolences for those affected by the fires and shared additional changes, including the postponement of the International Feature Shortlist Screening and cancellation of some in-person events. The 2025 Oscars, hosted by Conan O’Brien, will take place on March 2.
