“Trump Stops New Penny Production, Calls It A Waste”

US President Donald Trump has ordered the Treasury Department to stop making new pennies, calling them “so wasteful.” He pointed out that each penny costs more than 2 cents to produce.

Trump, focused on cutting costs, said, “Let’s rip the waste out of our great nation’s budget, even if it’s a penny at a time.” He shared this message after attending the Super Bowl in New Orleans.

Musk’s DOGE Finds Treasury Issues

While heading to the game, Trump revealed that Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) discovered irregularities in Treasury payments. He hinted that the US may have less debt than expected. However, a federal judge has temporarily blocked DOGE’s access to Treasury data.

Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that Trump’s goal is to secure lower interest rates.
