On Monday morning, around 40 schools in Delhi received a threatening email. The sender claimed bombs were planted in the schools and demanded $30,000.
Famous schools like DPS RK Puram, GD Goenka Paschim Vihar, The British School Chanakyapuri, and Modern School Mandi House were targeted. To ensure safety, most schools stopped classes and sent students home.
Police, fire officials, and bomb squads quickly searched the schools. Thankfully, no bombs or dangerous items were found.
Parents were upset, saying schools face such threats too often. Some called it a failure in safety measures.
A similar threat was made in May to over 200 schools and government offices in Delhi. That case is still under investigation as the sender used a VPN to hide their identity.
