Three IAS aspirants died after heavy rain flooded the basement of a coaching center in Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar. Rahul Gandhi expressed his condolences and criticized the system, saying that unsafe construction, poor town planning, and institutional irresponsibility are putting common citizens’ lives at risk.
In a Hindi post on X, Gandhi called the deaths “very unfortunate” and mentioned a recent incident where a student died from an electric shock during rain. He emphasized that a safe and comfortable life is the right of every citizen and the responsibility of the government.
Delhi Police have detained the owner and coordinator of the coaching center following the tragic incident.
