Kejriwal’s lawyer, A M Singhvi, argued that Kejriwal was not named in the CBI FIR but was called as a witness. Singhvi stressed that Kejriwal is not a threat in the case and is seeking regular bail. The CBI’s recent application to interrogate Kejriwal followed a new statement recorded in January.

The CBI claims that Kejriwal’s party benefited from illicit funds intended for favorable policy adjustments, with Kejriwal’s close associate, Vijay Nair, also implicated in demanding illegal bribes.
