Tamil Nadu BJP chief K Annamalai has mocked actor Vijay for his political debut, calling his new party’s ideology a “Khichdi politics” (mix of all ideologies) that has never been successful. Annamalai, who recently returned from an education break, stated that Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, will not impact the BJP’s prospects in the state.
He mentioned that Vijay’s ideology seems to align with Dravidian parties, which could split votes between the DMK, AIADMK, and his party.
Annamalai also welcomed Vijay’s political entry but questioned his field presence since his initial announcement, saying politicians must be active on the ground.
Vijay’s party aims to contest the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections, but it will not participate in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
