Karisma joined in the celebrations with a simple yet heartfelt message.
Directed by Kiran Rao, Laapataa Ladies takes viewers on a whimsical journey back to rural India in 2001, where two brides are accidentally exchanged during a train ride, leading their husbands on a comical quest to find their real brides.
Kiran Rao expressed her gratitude for the recognition, saying she never expected an Oscar entry, especially with so many great films this year. “Now we will have a chance to show this film to a much larger audience,” she added.
