The Railway Ministry announced compensation of ₹1.5 lakh for the families of the deceased, ₹50,000 for the seriously injured, and ₹5,000 for minor injuries. Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis announced ₹5 lakh for the victims’ families and assured free medical care for the injured.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow and prayed for the recovery of the injured.
