Brave New World has all the right ingredients—action, VFX, and big villains—but lacks the excitement. Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) takes over as Captain America, but both the character and actor struggle with self-doubt.
The story follows President Thunderbolt Ross (Harrison Ford), who wants to extract Adamantium (X-Men reference) from the Celestial emerging from Earth. But a villain threatens to start a global war. Captain America and Falcon (Danny Ramirez) must step up to stop him.
The film tries to be a thrilling mystery like The Winter Soldier, but weak writing makes it predictable and dull. Even Marvel’s usual witty banter is missing. The only highlights? A cameo from a fan-favorite antihero, Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly), and Red Hulk’s epic 15-minute rampage in Washington, DC.
Overall, it’s better than some recent MCU films but still forgettable. If this is Marvel’s future, fans should be worried.
