Brandon Sklenar, who starred alongside Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in It Ends With Us, has decided to stay neutral in the ongoing legal fight between his co-stars.
Blake Lively has accused Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and leading a “smear campaign” against her during the film’s promotion. Baldoni has denied the allegations and countersued, claiming Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, tried to extort him. He first filed a $250 million defamation lawsuit against The New York Times for its coverage of the case. Later, he added another lawsuit, seeking $400 million from Lively and Reynolds.
Sklenar, who has mostly stayed out of the controversy, was asked about it while promoting 1923 Season 2 on CBS Mornings. When host Gayle King asked if he was “Team Blake or Team Justin,” he laughed and replied, “I’m Team It Ends With Us.”
He urged people to focus on the movie’s message rather than the drama. “I just want people to remember why we made the movie in the first place and what it stands for,” he said.
Sklenar also shared that the story has personal meaning to him. “I know someone close to me who went through what Lively’s character did. Doing this movie gave her the strength to change her life,” he added.
Though Sklenar claims to be neutral, some believe he may have shown support for Lively in December. He reportedly shared a link to her legal complaint against Baldoni on Instagram, writing, “FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, READ THIS.”
