Bomb threats were emailed to four schools in Delhi early Friday morning, causing panic and leading to thorough searches by multiple agencies. This is the second bomb threat incident in a week, following a similar situation on December 9, when 44 schools received hoax threats.
The schools that received the threatening emails include:
The emails, sent at around 12:54 am, mentioned “parent-teachers’ meeting” and “sports day,” followed by a warning of bomb blasts on Friday and Saturday, according to sources.
Delhi Police, fire department, bomb squads, and dog teams rushed to the schools to conduct thorough checks. Parents were alerted and advised to either keep their children at home or pick them up if they had already reached school.
At Cambridge School, principal Madhavi Goswami found the email during her routine check and immediately informed the police. She reassured parents that the situation was under control and announced online classes for the day.
