The BCCI is planning new disciplinary measures following India’s tough tour of Australia, including limiting spouses’ presence on long tours and enforcing travel rules. Players’ luggage over 150 kg will now be paid for by the players, not the board.
The BCCI is discussing restricting spouses’ stay to two weeks on tours longer than 45 days. If the tour is shorter, they can stay for a week. There will also be a strict rule requiring players and coaches to use the team bus, avoiding personal vehicles. Personal managers traveling on the team bus are also raising concerns with the anti-corruption unit.
These measures come after India’s 1-3 loss to Australia, which also caused them to miss out on the World Test Championship final.
