In the early hours of this morning, a tragic train accident occurred in Jharkhand. The Howrah-CSTM Express, bound for Mumbai, derailed near Badabamboo, approximately 80 km from Jamshedpur, at around 3:45 am. The derailment involved about 18 coaches, resulting in the death of two people and injuries to 20 others.

Immediate Response and Ongoing Rescue Operations

Rescue teams were dispatched to the site as soon as the derailment was reported. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has also been mobilized to assist in the rescue efforts. West Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Kuldeep Chaudhary, who is present at the accident site, confirmed the casualties and stated that rescue operations are in full swing.

Details of the Derailment

According to Senior Railway official Om Prakash Charan, a nearby goods train also derailed, but it remains unclear whether the two incidents are related. Of the 18 coaches that derailed, 16 were passenger coaches, one was a power car, and one was a pantry car.

Medical Aid and Further Treatment

The injured passengers were promptly given first aid by the Railways’ medical team and have been transported to Chakradharpur for better medical care. The exact cause of the derailment is still under investigation.

As a result of the accident, several trains on this route have been canceled or diverted. Authorities are working to manage the disruptions and ensure passenger safety.
