Florida’s food scene is heating up! This year, five restaurants in the state earned new Michelin stars, with one—Sorekara in Orlando—getting an upgrade to a two-star rating. That makes it only the second restaurant in Florida to have two stars, joining L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Miami.
Sorekara, led by chef William Shen, offers a unique tasting menu inspired by Japan’s 72 micro-seasons. Dining there is an unforgettable experience, lasting several hours and even including a course that feels like you’re shopping in a Japanese convenience store! But spots are super limited, so getting in is tough.
Here are the 4 new one-star restaurants:
Green Stars went to Stubborn Seed and EntreNos in Miami for focusing on sustainable, eco-friendly dining.
New cities on the Michelin map include Fort Lauderdale, The Palm Beaches, and St. Pete-Clearwater. Palm Beach County especially shined, with places like Buccan, Coolinary, and The Butcher’s Club getting shoutouts.
Local favorite Palm Beach Meats even earned a Bib Gourmand for great food at good prices. Owner Meghan San Pedro said it best: “We just loved Wagyu and built a business around it.”
