Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, recently criticized India, saying that true Muslims cannot ignore the suffering of Muslims in India, Myanmar, and Gaza. In response, India’s Ministry of External Affairs called his remarks “misinformed and unacceptable.”
Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal urged countries to review their own records before commenting on others. He emphasized that India’s strong relationship with Iran should not be overshadowed by these criticisms.
Israel’s Ambassador to India, Reuven Azar, also weighed in, accusing Khamenei of oppressing his own people and praising democratic freedoms enjoyed by Muslims in other countries.
Khamenei’s comments come amidst ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, affecting India’s delicate balance of relations with both nations.
