Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited Austria, marking a historic moment as the first Indian PM to do so in 41 years. During his visit, he held crucial discussions with Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer on enhancing bilateral ties. They focused on areas like infrastructure, renewable energy, hydrogen, water management, waste management, and artificial intelligence.
PM Modi emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomacy in resolving global issues, including the war in Ukraine and instability in West Asia. He stressed that war is not the solution and that both India and Austria stand against terrorism. Nehammer acknowledged India’s significant role in global affairs, highlighting its influence as the world’s largest democracy and a key player in initiatives like the BRICS and international peace efforts.
The leaders agreed on strengthening cooperation in combating climate change and promoting sustainable development. They also condemned terrorism unequivocally and expressed readiness to support each other in promoting peace and stability worldwide.
