Dense fog has hit parts of North India, severely affecting travel. In Delhi, visibility dropped to zero, causing delays for over 200 flights. The fog, combined with cold temperatures, disrupted both flights and trains.
At Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport, flights from SpiceJet, Air India, and IndiGo were delayed. Over 200 flights experienced delays, with departures delayed by 47 minutes on average. The fog is expected to last until January 8, with light rain predicted for January 6. Trains, including the Ayodhya Express and Gorakhdham Express, were also delayed due to the weather.
Delhi’s air quality is categorized as “Very Poor,” with a 309 AQI, and dense fog is forecasted to continue over Delhi, Amritsar, Lucknow, Bengaluru, and Guwahati.
