Following India’s poor 2024-25 Test performance, the BCCI is introducing stricter rules. Players’ families, especially wives, will only be allowed to stay for two weeks during a 45-day overseas tour. Players must also travel with the team on the bus, and solo travel is discouraged.
Head coach Gautam Gambhir faces new restrictions as well—his manager won’t be allowed in the team hotel or VIP box, nor can he travel with the team. Additionally, players will have to cover the cost for luggage exceeding 150kg.
Discussions with top BCCI officials also involved limiting support staff tenure to three years to freshen up the team dynamic.
