Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his warm wishes to the people of the state on Makar Sankranti and the first ‘Amrit Snan’ of the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj. He urged everyone to celebrate by embracing eco-friendly practices and avoiding single-use plastic.
Around 1.75 crore devotees took the sacred dip at Triveni Sangam on the first day of the Maha Kumbh. Adityanath also prayed at the Gorakhnath Temple for the well-being of the people and a prosperous nation.
The chief minister emphasized that festivals like Makar Sankranti bring people together and inspire unity, while urging everyone to maintain the cleanliness of the holy sites.
“Let’s preserve the sanctity of our traditions and contribute to a cleaner environment this Makar Sankranti!” he added.
