At the Golden Globe Awards, “Shogun” took home the top honor for Best Drama Series. The show, set in imperial Japan, also won acting awards for Anna Sawai and Hiroyuki Sanada, with Tadanobu Asano winning Best Supporting Male Actor. Hiroyuki Sanada thanked everyone who supported him and encouraged young creators to believe in themselves.
Meanwhile, “Hacks” won Best Comedy Series, with Jean Smart earning Best Female Actor for her role as stand-up comedian Deborah Vance.
Other winners included Netflix’s “Baby Reindeer,” which won Best Limited Series, and Colin Farrell for Best Male Actor in a Limited Series for his role in “The Penguin.”
The Golden Globes are now under new ownership, expanding their diversity with journalists from 75 countries and 60% racial and ethnic diversity.
