Jim Carrey’s iconic Brentwood mansion is under threat from the destructive wildfires sweeping through Southern California. After a long wait, the actor recently found a buyer for his home, listed for $28.9 million but sold at a discounted price of $19.75 million.
The Pacific Palisades fires are now just miles from the property, with only 14% of the fire contained. The area has been issued a Level 3 evacuation order.
Carrey’s home, which he purchased in 1994 for $3.8 million, features five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a waterfall pool, yoga space, wine cellar, and a stunning Art Deco theatre with mohair walls and burl wood columns.
Despite talking about retiring, Carrey returned to acting, joking at the Sonic the Hedgehog 3 premiere, “I bought a lot of stuff and need the money.”
