Trudeau Govt Denies Linking Modi, Jaishankar to Canada Crimes

The Justin Trudeau government has denied linking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to any criminal activities in Canada. A statement from Nathalie G. Drouin, the National Security and Intelligence Advisor to Trudeau, said there is no evidence or claims connecting them to such activities.

On October 14, due to a “significant and ongoing threat to public safety,” the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) accused agents of the Indian government of engaging in criminal activities in Canada.

This clarification comes after India strongly refuted a report in the Canadian newspaper Globe and Mail, which attempted to link the death of Hardeep Nijjar to Modi, Jaishankar, and Doval.

Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalistani terrorist, was killed outside a Gurdwara in Surrey, British Columbia, on June 18, 2023. Trudeau previously claimed “credible allegations” about India’s involvement, but India recalled six diplomats after Canada declared them “persons of interest” in the case.
